Human–computer interaction

Shaoze Zhou

Ph.D. student in Computer ScienceFlorida International University

Hi! I’m Shaoze, a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Florida International University. I work in human–computer interaction, designing and studying AI and XR systems that help people communicate.

My research brings together three interests:

  • Human–AI interaction: helping people participate in and contribute to conversations.
  • Conversational agents: exploring proactive AI assistance.
  • XR systems: bringing contextual support into in-person interactions.

Previously, I studied Computer Science (Game Development) at USC and Computer Science at the University of Michigan. My background in game design and development shapes how I build interactive experiences, and I continue to explore games and XR as side projects.
